Sex is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Recently, a study published in revealed just how dangerous sex positions can be for guys. See how your favorite position is putting you or your partner at risk!
Fractured penises are among the top 10 most common sex injuries, according to the study.
“Woman on top” is the most dangerous sex position, responsible for half of all penile fractures.

Conversely, the safest position is also the most traditional one.

This was discovered looking at cases of penile fractures in three different emergency rooms over a 13-year period.
The authors of the study say that "When a woman is on top she usually controls the movement with her entire body weight landing on the erect penis, not being able to interrupt it when the penis suffers a wrong way penetration…”
"On the contrary, when the man is controlling the movement, he has better chances of stopping the penetration energy in response to the pain related to the penis harm, minimizing it."

As a result, “doggy style” only counts for 29% of fractures.
The remaining 21% of fractures were caused by “man on top” positions.
Half the patients who were treated for these injuries hear an audible cracking sound, followed by pain.

And another 9.5% were injured in circumstances that were “unclear.”
Oh, and generally, penile fractures require surgery as treatment.
After reading this, you might want to redefine what you think “safe sex” is.
