Ankara - About 85 percent of Turkish women do not approve of sex before marriage, according to a survey conducted by Piar-Gallup published on Saturday in the Hurriyet newspaper.
The survey, carried out among 1 592 Turkish women over the age of 18 from across the country, also found that 75 percent did not know what an orgasm was or had not experienced one.

Sixty-nine percent of married women thought that having sex with their husbands was an obligation. About 61 percent of the same group were in arranged marriages.
Forty-five percent of those questioned would have liked to have known more about their sexuality before marriage and 59 percent were in favour of sex education in schools.
Sex is still a taboo subject in Turkey outside major urban areas, although a sex education pilot project was launched last month in Istanbul primary schools. - Sapa-AFP
